I have lost track on how many times I have attempted to write a memory on Robert’s last memories site since it became public – each attempt ended often with tears and refusal to accept the tremendous loss of my mentor. At last, I am ready to accept the fact that Robert will no longer be popping up on my phone, email, facebook, Bloomberg, etc.  Robert was my first boss, the warmest soul on Wall Street that took a chance on a naïve, undergraduate from a 2nd-tier university. He guided me through the jungles of the real working world, never hesitating to provide his tips, experiences, and sales flair. Robert had an infectious laugh in the office, a sense of calm through the chaos, and most memorably, a genuine sense of fairness and compassion for every individual. Even thru his last days, during his courageous battle with cancer, he consistently reached out to me to pass on his career guidance on my next steps. Where does one develop to become even half the man that Robert was? I am amazed. Robert, rest in peace with our Heavenly Father. No lesson you taught me will be forgotten: I will always and forever be honored to have been your apprentice – in work, in all things AAPL, and in life.

Pat, Stephanie, David: No words can express my condolences, and God bless each of you during this difficult time.

Robert Koh is known for many positive attributes, and it has been well documented on this website. While his love for cutting-edge technology stands out, I will always remember Robert as a caring friend. I remember the tumultuous financial crisis between late 2007 and end of 2008, when the financial industry, of which both Robert and myself work in, saw unprecedented financial losses and massive job cuts. In the midst of this gloom, I would receive periodic bloomberg messages (financial messaging system) from Robert, checking to see how things were with me. I was moved by his thoughtful gesture of reaching out to me, as I had only met Pat and Robert once, and had spoken with him on several occasions prior to this. During this period, I often looked forward to these chat sessions as a way to pause from the gloomy environment, where colleagues were being "fired" on a regular basis. It was comforting to know that someone was looking out for me. These moments of fellowship with someone from the same part of the world, with similar values, and who was going through similar experiences in the same industry was likened to a breath of fresh air amidst suffocating fear and hopelessness. Thanks for being there, Robert. Robert, you have certainly lived out your faith in Christ and fought a good fight to the very end. Thank you for reminding us that death has lost its sting. Thank you for being you. Dear Pat, Stephanie and David, Szue Nien and I would like to express our deepest condolences to you on the loss of your husband/father. May His grace, which is never-ending, and His peace, which transcends all understanding be upon you.

Robert, rest in peace.
Still remember how much you enjoyed your life! A super fan of apple and facebook! I finally got my Iphone, and finally understand how come you could be so addicted!!  Still remember the lunch we had when you shared your passion for life, work, family and friends.  You are such a kind soul, who will be greatly missed by all who knew you.

May God bless you and your family during this time and always.

Christy

I remembered Robert as a person without airs, with a good sense of humour. A big fan of Apple and of cos, his lively and infectious laughter. Bye for now, Robert, I know that you are now in the house of our heavenly Father. You will be dearly missed.

My deepest condolences to the family as my heart goes to them.

There are so many things that bring a smile to my face when I remember Robert. His moooahahahaha's on instant messaging at work or over work emails, referring to his blackberry as blueberry or fruit, warning me about the dangers of consuming too much carbohydrates, fussing over the gifts during a conference, getting excited over trying new restaurants, this list goes on! Robert took great pride in being a hospitable organizer during the conferences and this was evident to everyone that attended. Indeed we shall celebrate his life, I can almost hear him telling the cells that they are naughty, just as he has written above. Even in a time of physical pain, Robert has really inspired me with his strength, testament and undying faith in the Lord. Dearest Pat, Stephanie and David, Psalms 30:5b Weeping may endure for the night, but joy comes in the morning. Let us celebrate Robert's life as he wanted us too! Matthew 5:4 Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted. May the Lord be with you all through this difficult period, there will come the day for a reunion in the Lord's Kingdom.
